Explore Asheville from Together Built Farm

Your guide to the best of Western North Carolina — all within minutes of our farm

Together Built Farm & Stay is located in the heart of Western North Carolina, just minutes from downtown Asheville. Whether you're here for the mountains, the food, the art, or simply to unplug on a working farm with emus and open space — you picked the right place.

Downtown Asheville — 10 Minutes Away

Asheville's downtown is a walkable mix of independent restaurants, galleries, street performers, and locally owned shops. The city has been named one of the best small cities in America by multiple publications. Pack Square, the Grove Arcade, and Wall Street are all worth exploring on foot. Asheville is also home to more than 30 craft breweries — one of the highest concentrations per capita in the country.

The Biltmore Estate — 15 Minutes Away

America's largest privately owned home is just a short drive from the farm. The Biltmore Estate includes the 250-room Châteauesque mansion, 8,000 acres of gardens and grounds, a winery, restaurants, and seasonal events. It's one of the most visited attractions in the Southeast.

Blue Ridge Parkway — 10 Minutes Away

The Blue Ridge Parkway runs right through the Asheville area, offering some of the most scenic drives in the eastern United States. Popular stops near the farm include the Folk Art Center, Craggy Gardens, Graveyard Fields, and the highest point on the Parkway at Richland Balsam. Fall foliage season (October) is particularly stunning.

Hiking & Outdoor Recreation

Asheville sits at the intersection of Pisgah National Forest and the Great Smoky Mountains. Popular trails accessible from the farm include Max Patch (panoramic 360-degree bald), Looking Glass Rock, Catawba Falls, DuPont State Forest (home to several waterfalls featured in The Hunger Games), and the Appalachian Trail. The French Broad River runs through the city and offers tubing, kayaking, and paddleboarding.

Food & Farm-to-Table Dining

Asheville's food scene punches well above its weight. The city has been recognized by Bon Appétit, Southern Living, and the James Beard Foundation. Local favorites include everything from authentic Southern BBQ to internationally inspired cuisine. Many restaurants source directly from local farms — including farms just like ours.

River Arts District

The River Arts District is a collection of more than 200 working artist studios along the French Broad River. Visitors can watch artists work in ceramics, painting, glassblowing, woodworking, and more. It's free to visit and one of the most authentic art experiences in the Southeast.

Why Stay at a Farm Instead of a Hotel?

Together Built Farm offers something no hotel or typical Airbnb can: a real working farm experience with emus, horses, peacocks, and fainting goats — all on 9.5 acres in the Asheville mountains. Guests wake up to roosters, explore the farm, and experience something no hotel can offer. It's the Asheville experience people remember years later.

We offer barndominiums from $99/night, tiny homes, and farmhouse suites. Pet friendly. Family owned. Rebuilt with love after Hurricane Helene.
