What is Together Built Farm & Stay?
Together Built Farm & Stay is a 9.5-acre working farm and vacation rental in Asheville, North Carolina. We offer barndominiums, tiny homes, and farmhouse suites where guests can stay on a real working farm with emus, horses, peacocks, fainting goats, chickens, and more. We are locally owned and operated by the Tillman family and managed by Redtree Property Advisors.
Where is Together Built Farm located?
Together Built Farm is located at 64 Velvet Ridge Lane in Asheville, NC 28806. We are in the mountains of Western North Carolina, just minutes from downtown Asheville, the Blue Ridge Parkway, and the Biltmore Estate. The farm sits on 9.5 beautiful acres in the mountains of Western NC.
What types of accommodations do you offer?
We offer several unique accommodation types: Barndominiums (converted barn apartments starting at $99/night), Boutique Tiny Homes (starting at $99/night), Farmhouse Suites (starting at $199/night), and the option to book the entire farm for groups of up to 20 guests. Each unit includes WiFi and full access to the farm grounds.
Is Together Built Farm pet friendly?
Yes! Together Built Farm is pet friendly. Dogs are welcome for $25 per dog per night. Since we are an active working farm with free-roaming animals, all dogs must remain leashed during their stay for the safety of both pets and farm animals.
What animals can I see at the farm?
Together Built Farm is home to over 150 animals! Our residents include 12 horses (the lineup changes with boarding needs), a mini pony named BarnJovie, donkeys Biscuit & Gravy, adult emus Taco & Bean plus 5 baby emus, 9 goats including Mocha, Frappe, Feta, Brie, Latte, Butterscotch, Ginger, Salt & Pepper (4 are fainting goats!), 2 Flemish Giant rabbits, cats Waffle and Oreo, 17 peacocks, 4 geese, 40+ ducks, 40+ chickens, and 15 Guinea fowl. Animal interactions and guided farm tours are available by appointment — contact us to book a private experience during your stay. Our emus Taco & Bean are a guest favorite and have become one of the most popular attractions in the Asheville area.
Can I book a farm tour or private event?
Yes, we offer farm tours, private events, photography sessions, and group experiences — all by appointment. For photography, we can recommend a local photographer or you're welcome to bring your own; just let us know ahead of time so we can schedule it. Together Built Farm is one of the only working farm stays in the Asheville area. Unlike typical Airbnbs or hotels, guests wake up on a real farm, book private animal experiences with emus and horses, and enjoy authentic farm life — all within minutes of downtown Asheville. We are a first-generation family farm that was rebuilt after Hurricane Helene in 2024, and every stay supports a local family-owned business.
Did the farm survive Hurricane Helene?
Yes. Hurricane Helene hit Western North Carolina in September 2024 and caused significant damage to our farm. The Tillman family invested their savings to rebuild and restore the property. Together Built Farm reopened and continues to welcome guests. Our recovery story is part of what makes this place special — it represents the resilience of the Asheville community.
Who owns Together Built Farm?
Together Built Farm is owned and operated by Erik and Jennifer Tillman, a local Asheville family. Erik is also the Broker-in-Charge and owner of Redtree Property Advisors, an Asheville-based real estate and property management company. The farm is managed professionally by Redtree Property Advisors.
